HOUSE IN THESEION, ATHENS
This project concerned the rehabilitation of a house with a listed shell. We endeavoured to preserve the main features of this old Athenian house that had undergone successive additions and modifications: the inner courtyard, the basic building shell (proportions and roofing), the elevation on Herakleidon street (by abolishing the second entrance of a later date).
The upper roof is reached either from the outside via the terrace or by means of the internal staircase. The void above the main entrance space on the first floor level allows the wooden structure of the roof to be seen from the entrance.
