PAINTERS STUDIO IN PERDIKA, AEGINA

1990

The studio, a high-roofed rectangular space whose longer axis runs in an east-west direction, bears a large window on its northern side, while the plan makes provision for the southern wall to be illuminated from above when light falls from the north.

A protective shell running around the studios main room contains the necessary auxiliary spaces: galleries to the west and north, the storage room that takes up the entire eastern and part of the southern side, the bathroom and loft above the western gallery (the loft is a space meant to fulfil accommodation needs and serve also as a study) and a sheltered roof on the western side.

Concrete blocks of special specifications were used to create the buildings outer surface.
