APARTMENT HOUSE ON DOXAPATRI STREET, ATHENS

This apartment house is on a quiet street, parallel to the Lycabettus ring road. The long side of the site, along the street, is facing north.

Almost all the apartments have certain standard characteristics in common. The most basic and decisive element in each case is the living area, which extends the length of the apartment and faces both north and south. Its design is somewhat reminiscent of an open courtyard. Intermediate spaces that are either ramifications of this courtyard or are placed between the closed-space units constitute another major feature of the design.
